Gregorian calendar. Add whole years first, then whole months, clamping an unavailable day to the last day of that month (29 February becomes 28 February in a non-leap year). Remaining days start from that clamped date. Elapsed days exclude the start date. This is a calendar calculation, not a legal age determination.
